How to Launch a Beyblade

So you want to be a Beyblade master. Well, you’re probably going to have some trouble with that, but we here are going to help. We’ve got some tips for launching your Beyblade so fast and furiously that it will knock out all competition! Do you know how to launch a Beyblade? It’s easy! You just need the right equipment and some practice. The following blog post will show you how to do it in simple steps.

how to launch a beyblade

As you see your brand new Beyblade spinning around the stadium, you are probably anxious to start launching it. But first, you need to be aware of some things so that your launch isn’t a bust.

What factors affect how far a Beyblade goes?

Many things can influence how far or fast your launched Beyblade will go: including the stadium, how much force you use to launch it, what angle you choose to launch it at, your Beyblade’s weight vs. its stamina (HP), the type of blade that is on your Beyblade, etc.

Stadiums:

Stadiums come in all shapes and sizes. Some are filled with sand, while others are made of rubber.

I’ll cover how these stadiums can affect a launch later on in this article. But for now, I will focus on the two most important factors for your launch: Force and Angle.

Force:

Your Beyblade’s top speed is mainly dependent on the force it launches with. You can increase your launch speed by easing slightly on the ripcord and giving a quick “mini-pull” before letting go, allowing more power to travel up the string.

If you use too much force, however, the rubber of your Beyblade’s stadium can rip or tear, causing excessive friction and thus slowing your Beyblade down. This is what green “top-string” ripcords are for, which allow you to use less force because the rubber is thinner and therefore has less friction.

There are also different kinds of force: horizontal force can make your Beyblade launch in a specific direction (see next section). In contrast, the rotational force can make your Beyblade launch in either the clockwise or counter-clockwise direction.

Horizontal Force:

This is created by simply pulling downwards on your ripcord, launching it in a downward to forward motion (depending on how hard you pull down). If you are looking to launch at a certain angle, you will want to use this force.

Vertical Force:

This is created by simply pulling straight up on your ripcord and launching it in an upward motion (depending on how hard you pull up). You can also thrust forward after you’ve pulled upwards; this will create an extra force that sends the Beyblade flying farther than usual. However, if too much force is used, the Beyblade will launch vertically and not horizontally.

Vertical Force can also be created by swinging to either side. However, this makes more of a sideways force than vertical.

When using force, the main thing you want to remember is that there should be NO pull BEHIND your Beyblade during the launch. This will cause the Beyblade to launch unbalanced and probably fly off-screen.

Which way should I launch?

One of the most common questions people ask about Beyblades is, “which direction should I fire?” Unfortunately, there are only two ways to go when you’re launching a Beyblade. Still, both can have significant effects on how far your Beyblade goes.

Anywhere between 0-90 degrees is considered “flat” (which will be the only way I’ll refer to flat launches). Any angle past 90 degrees is considered to be “downhill”.

You want to aim for somewhere between 45-60 degrees depending on the situation. The general rule of thumb for flat launches is that you maximize your horizontal force. This means when the Beyblade falls from the launcher, all its momentum will be focused forward towards a certain direction (depending on how flat the launch is).

This can also help create a “curve” in which your Beyblade travels at an arc instead of going straight forward. If you want to curve your Beyblade, you wish to do so during the throw or at around 30-60 degrees (see picture for reference).

If you are launching uphill, however, then maximize vertical force instead. This will give your Beyblade extra time to build up speed, and it will use its rotational force to keep it moving forward. If you are launching uphill, I suggest doing so at 85 degrees or higher to maximize vertical force.

Suppose you’re looking for a perfectly flat launch. In that case, you can do so anywhere from 45-90 degrees with no problem whatsoever (although if you want to go downhill, the only way to do that is by going over 90 degrees).

There are multiple ways to maximize your launch. The main ones are the ways I’ve mentioned, but there’s also one other way that is weird and takes some practice. It involves throwing vertically at roughly 30-60 degrees with a bit of extra forward momentum during the throw. This creates an arc-type effect in which the Beyblade can shoot up into the air or even do a 180-degree flip!

This is one of the main things that makes people think Beyblades are cheating. Every time their Beyblade lands on the screen, it’s either doing multiple flips or bouncing all over for no reason!

How to make your Beyblade launch better/further?

The easiest way to make your Beyblade launch better is to practice simply. The more you throw, the better you’ll become at it.

In addition, there are a few other things that will help out as well.

I’ve already mentioned using as much vertical force as possible when launching uphill. This will ensure that your Beyblade’s rotational force will help it stay in motion for a more extended period. It also helps if the Beyblade has an attack-type energy ring since this will give you more “lift” when it hits the ground (the same concept applies to air battles).

In terms of launching your Beyblade further, there are a few other things that you can do.

The first is to make sure your launcher is entirely level. If it’s not, the Beyblade might either launch horizontally or vertically depending on where it hits (the same applies to any spin track).

In addition, try launching from a bit further away from the center. This gives you more room to move, and it can help fire your Beyblade faster depending on the way you throw (or even launch)

 What are Toe Stops?

Toe Stops are a type of launcher that has recently popped up. They’re not super common since they’re harder to build than regular launchers, but I’ll tell you everything you need to know.

Toe Stops don’t exactly fire the Beyblade, and they’re not really launchers at all. Instead, they’re like a sort of kickstand that helps launch your Beyblade by pushing it back while it’s spinning, giving it more momentum than if you were just to hold it in your hand and throw it.

Toe Stops are definitely not things you can build out of household objects, so I won’t go too in-depth about them since only people with Roller Beyblade Tops(RB-Customization) can really use them.

How to throw your Beyblade in a Curve/Arc?

You’re trying to throw the Beyblade as if it were a frisbee. You know, those flying disks you can play catch with. In order to do this, you want to hold the launcher at around 45 degrees and make sure you give your Beyblade plenty of horizontal force during the throw.

The reason why is because the Beyblade will travel in an arc shape. It’ll go horizontally at first; then, it’ll have to curve up for it to reach its maximum distance.

If you’re doing this with two Beyblades, you want the launcher to face opposite directions(The left hand goes right, the right-hand goes left). This makes the Beyblade move horizontally in a straight line, so there’s no curve necessary.

How to throw your Beyblade in a Straight Line?

This is pretty simple. All you have to do is hold your launcher so that it’s facing directly at the center of the screen (the same way you would if you already launched the Beyblade straight) and then launch it forward.

You want to make sure you’re throwing the Beyblade horizontally, but at the same time, you also want to give it some vertical force. This will ensure that it goes far enough without bouncing off of anything.

If your launcher doesn’t have a “forward” setting, then this is probably the only way you’ll be able to launch your Beyblade at full strength effectively.

How to Counter a Knockaway Attack?

Knock-away attacks are pretty straightforward. However, suppose you’re trying to do it by hand. In that case, the easiest way is to counter it is by throwing your Beyblade in a straight line with as much horizontal and vertical force as possible, and by making sure the launcher is at the same angle as the other Beyblade. So, for example, if one launcher were facing to your right(so it’s 45 degrees clockwise), you would want to make sure your launcher is 45 degrees clockwise.

If both launchers are not in the same position, then what will happen is that one Beyblade will knock the other Beyblade away, but never any further than that. So, for example, if one Beyblade hits to your left(so it’s 45 degrees counter-clockwise), then it’ll just sit there and spin vertically.

How to launch a beyblade?

Now many people have different opinions on the best way to launch these spinning-top toys. Here are some of the most popular methods for getting your blade up to speed.

Wrist Flying Method:

This was the first way you launched your blade. You would get a piece of paper, fold it up so that it fits in your hand, take the Beyblade and put it on the folded part of the paper, holding onto one side with your hand, let go letting it fly free. This method is tough to control where your blade will end up flying, and the blade might turn in mid-flight and hit you in the face, or it may just stay there.

Hand Launch:

This is a better way to launch your blades. You take your launcher and push it into one side of the Beyblade until it is past the wheel axle that holds up the wheel, then pull out your launcher and let it fly. This is a much better and safer way to launch your blade.

Slingshot:

This is the easiest and safest way to get your blade up to top speed. You take a rubber band (or hair tie), put it around the bottom point of the launcher, then stretch it over your hand and let go! The Beyblade will fly straight forward, probably into your wall or ceiling. But it is very safe since you can control precisely where the Beyblade goes, and it only uses one hand!

Spinner Launcher:

This launcher is a special one that has a spinner on top of the blade, kind of like a clock. You put the rubber band around the spinner, then stretch it over your hand and let it fly. The blade will spin around as you shoot it into the air! This is a great way to get a high speed but be careful; this launcher can go really far because the blade keeps spinning forwards.

Bottle rocket launcher:

You get a bottle; make sure it has some kind of power source put inside (a water balloon, firecracker, etc.). Put the blade on the bottom part of the launcher and aim for any direction you want. Hopefully, after about 5 seconds, your bottle, blade, and the launcher will explode, sending the blade soaring through the air. This is a great way to get up to high speed, mainly if you use firecrackers because they explode with so much force!
